My Belief System - (My Keys to Success in Business & Life)

What is a belief system?

It is a series of personal beliefs that you think are the keys to success in business and in life.

Everyone’s belief systems are different in one-way or another, but here are some pivotal things that all people should have on their belief system if they want to be successful:

Grit can also be another word for determination. You need passion and perseverance for the short-term and long-term goals in your business.

If you don’t have grit and determination you will never be successful in your business. Building a business is far from easy and you have to have that strong will in order to get past the struggles that all business owners face.

It is important to have a clear mission, vision, and value statements that define you as an organization and business. Your size doesn’t matter, what matters is how you want to be perceived.

Be clear on the value that you add to the marketplace and to other people. Tell them how your business would make their lives easier or your product would make their life better.

More importantly, the reason that you do what you do has to be greater than your current pain. That is the key to staying determined.

Having an abundance mentality tells you that there are always new opportunities all around you. This relieves much of the pressure you may feel if you have a scarcity mentality that makes you think that you've only got one shot right now. Get rid of those limiting beliefs and let the abundance mentality overwhelm your thoughts.

Much of society seems to be built on a scarcity mentality. It's a mentality that tells people that there is a lack in life, that opportunities are few and far between. The scarcity mentality can be quite painful for the individual and create a lot of unnecessary fear, anxiety, and desperation. The key to overcoming this mentality is to have the belief that everything will work out. Take chances and reap the rewards for your bravery. The only limit you have is your mind.

Hard Work

Les Brown says it best, “To be successful, you must be willing to do the things today others won’t do in order to have the things tomorrow others won’t have.” Very few people are willing to put in the hard work that is necessary to succeed in business. With the advancement of technology today everyone has a “get rich quick” mentality and many people try to sell that. The reality is, it is work. A lot of hard work. It’s long days, sleepless nights, stressful meetings, number crunching, learning new skills, and investing in your self.

About 65% of your success will come from your mindset alone. You will never be defeated about what the world says about you, you will always be defeated by what you say about you. You are your harshest critic, sometimes it pays to be a little easier on yourself. The events that happen in this life do not happen to us, but for us. You have to take all of the negative experiences that has happened to you in your life and turn them around. Turn it into a lesson, or something positive that came out of it.

It was Maya Angelou that said, “Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.”  You have to have courage to live life, conduct your business, to take a risk, and to invest in yourself.

Meditation is a great way to help get in the proper mindset. It allows you to become one with yourself and your thoughts, flush negative feelings and experiences away, and to reduce stress.

In the stillness, God speaks. Be thankful. Be grateful and be the best expression of yourself.

What are some key factors in your belief system? How do you incorporate them into your every day life?
